If you're leaving from Denver, CO to Ramble at the Great Sand Dunes using I-285 South:
1. Start in Denver, CO
- Head south from your location and navigate to US-285 S.
- You can access US-285 S from several points in Denver, including via Hampden Avenue.
2. Take US-285 S toward Fairplay
- Follow US-285 S through the foothills and mountain towns.
- Pass through Conifer, Bailey, and Fairplay.
- Stay on US-285 S for approximately 120 miles.
3. Continue on US-285 S to Poncha Springs
- After Fairplay, continue over Poncha Pass toward Poncha Springs.
- At Poncha Springs, continue straight to stay on US-285 S.
4. Transition to US-160 E toward Alamosa
- Near Monte Vista, turn left onto US-160 E toward Alamosa.
- Drive for approximately 20 miles.
5. Turn onto State Highway 150 N
- Just before Alamosa, turn left onto State Highway 150 N (toward the Great Sand Dunes).
- Continue for about 16 miles.
6. Turn onto County Road 112
- Turn left onto County Road 112 (Lane 3 N).
- Drive for about 2 miles to reach Ramble at the Great Sand Dunes, which will be on your right.
If you're leaving from Colorado Springs, CO to Ramble at the Great Sand Dunes:
1. Start in Colorado Springs, CO
- Get on I-25 S from your location.
- Follow signs for Pueblo.
2. Take I-25 S to US-160 W
- Stay on I-25 S for approximately 80 miles to Walsenburg.
- In Walsenburg, take exit 50 for US-160 W toward Alamosa/Fort Garland.
3. Continue on US-160 W to State Highway 150 N
- Follow US-160 W for approximately 65 miles, passing through Fort Garland.
- Turn right onto State Highway 150 N, which is the main road to the Great Sand Dunes.
4. Turn onto County Road 112
- Continue on State Highway 150 N for about 16 miles.
- Turn left onto County Road 112 (Lane 3 N).
- Drive for about 2 miles to reach Ramble at the Great Sand Dunes, which will be on your right.
